Do you still need a TV Licence with IPTV?
Yes, usually. In the UK you need a TV Licence to watch or record programmes as they’re being shown live on TV — on any channel and any device, whether that’s a smart TV, laptop, phone, games console or streaming stick. An IPTV app is no exception. You also need one to watch the national public broadcaster’s programmes on its on-demand player.
You don’t need a licence if you only ever watch on-demand films and series (other than the public broadcaster’s) and never watch live TV.
